Happy Monday

What did YOU do this weekend?

I did a lot of homework and even got some sleep. Sometimes the two were mixed (NOTE ~ add to the dictionary: sleepwork - the act of giving up reading for a few minutes because your eyelids just refuse to stay elevated). Fortunately (miraculously) I was also able to create time for some fun stuff too. But doesn't this just look like a stressful little snoozer I had on saturday?

Here's to starting off a fresh new week!! Lets get work done, go to bed on time, feel GOOD and be stress free. Is it possible? Hey, its always worth a try!

Happy monday!

Bad (GREAT) Lip-Readings

In my quest to become politically informed, I have been introduced to these videos (special thank you to Lindsey and Rachel). I consider them to be extremely informative and highly valuable in deciding which of the candidates are best. The following clips are very serious and are not to be mocked or unfairly judged... Bahahahaha okay PSYCH! These things are flippin hilarious! So worth the few minutes to watch these if you need a good laugh.

Rick Perry:
Best Line: "Ice cream is cheap. FACT."

Ron Paul:
Best Line: "I helped a fuzzy dude cut a piece of fruit, and when he was chewing on it I mushed it and called an ambulance."

Mitt Romney:
Best Line: "Your mamma's pudgy. Face it."

Blame It On The Weatherman

I committed myself to working on my massive amounts of homework today from noon to midnight, but I am cheating and taking a quick break to blog. I'm a good 5.5 hours into it, its okay to take a quick break before resuming for the next 6 hours right?

Okay people. Its January in Provo and what is it doing? Its RAINING. Can someone please tell me WHY it is RAINING in JANUARY in PROVO?! Because usually, that doesn't happen. Typically at this point all that falls out of the sky is that beautiful fluffy white stuff that coats the earth and makes it look like the happiest winter wonderland there ever was. But no. Provo hasn't had any good snow yet this winter. Nada. I mean yeah sure its snowed a couple of times, but never more than a couple of inches that disappear by nightfall. That stuff is weak sauce, and it doesn't count. One day last week Mr. Weatherman said that we had a 100% chance of snow at 10 pm. Yeah well Brent and I stepped outside at 10 pm ready to soak it in and there was zippo snow. Weatherman, you're fired.

My real desire is to wake up in the morning and have that bluish glow filtering in through the blinds in my room that tells me ITS HERE. And then I throw back the covers, race to the window, peak through the blinds and see the wonderful world of white. And then I do a little jig and play this song (its my tradition). And then we all get bundled up in boots and hats and scarves and gloves and we get to walk around in the powdery goodness, listening to that delightful crunch beneath our feet as we leave our unique set of footprints that lead to packs of snow angels. And then we get to go back inside, change into warm dry clothes, make hot chocolate, snuggle up and watch a movie while we watch it continue to pile up outside, knowing that tomorrow we get to do it all over again. Ahhh, come on, admit it, you can't tell me you didn't just have a great daydream about that scenario! So yeah, even though all this rain reminds me of beautiful Seattle and provides for GREAT running weather, I want the good stuff now!

Dear Mr. Weatherman, please don't lie to us snow junkies again. I can't take another let down like that. So get down to business, work your magic, communicate with the snow fairies, and lets get Provo some hard core snow. Please and thank you.

Meanwhile, back at home in Seattle they've been getting pounded with snow ALL WEEK. I'm a little (LOT) bitter about it.

P.S. My goal to become informed about the presidential election has been going great! I've been watching videos, GOP debates, and I think I read every available article on CNN the other day :) Is it weird that its gotten a little bit addicting?

Part of My Heart is in Texas Forever

I went to Texas this weekend for the... TWELFTH time in 5 years? I left the apartment at 4:45 am friday morning and arrived back to the apartment at 12:15 pm sunday night. So it was a quick trip, but man was it a good one. I went because my niece Ella Jean was baptized and confirmed and officially welcomed into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on saturday night. It was a wonderful experience and I was so grateful I was able to be there as a part of it and to witness her make this big step in her life. Both my parents (referred to as Grandma and Grandpa Perry whenever i'm around the kids) and Val (Grandma Kenealey) were able to fly down and stay with them all weekend. It was fun filled family weekend. One thing I really appreciated about this trip is that I was able to spend some good quality time with the kids. Traditionally its always my sister and I sneaking away to do things together on our own, but this time it was different. I did my best to be the world's best aunt who loves to play games, watch magic tricks, baffle them with a few magic tricks of my own, tackle them to the ground and tickle them until they beg for mercy, give them big smoochie kisses (to choruses of groans and giggles), and let them "do flips" on me by holding my hands, climbing up my legs and flipping over. Let me tell ya folks, its all worth it when they come up to you, throw their arms around your neck and tell you they don't want you to go. Mission accomplished :) I love those kids with all my heart and i'll do whatever I can to make sure they know it. I love my family and getting to see them this weekend was a tremendous blessing.

The VIP girl of the weekend

Certainly one of the best pictures in existence of Mr. B and I

We went to this gigantic playground place that was awesome and made me want to be a little kid again... so I just pretended like I was for a little while :)

Movie/pizza night

I love going to Texas because it means I get to run with the world's best running buddy!

Baptism day

Quality kid time :D

On the plane headed back to Provo. I have to say, it makes it easier to go back when there's a super cute boy waiting for you at the airport ;-)

Oh yeah and ps, BLAST YOU DAD for making me find another one of these in my bag as I was unpacking
