Panic Button

Tonight, I felt like I needed one of these:

Turns out they don't really exist like you need them to. So I did this for a while:

And some of this too:

And now I feel a little bit less like this:

And a little bit more just like this:

And now I think i'm ready for this:

Except I think i'll do my sleeping in bed instead.
Goodnight.

Beautiful BYU

This, my friends, is where I go to school. Its where I live. Its where I spend all my time everyday.
ITS BYU.

I have wanted to go to BYU since before I can even remember. I have a distinct memory of sitting in one of my Primary Sunday School classes and saying that when I grew up I was going to go to BYU. From the time grades started to matter in 9th grade up through my senior year, BYU was constantly in my mind and in my sights. It was my goal. My desire. My passion. I poured everything I had into getting in. And then, one wonderful day, I DID. Some people don't get in and are just MEANT to be somewhere else for whatever reason. But after getting here last year, I came to know that this is where Jannette Perry belongs.

Plus, I get to see gorgeous things everyday like this:
(See the Y on the mountain?)

And in a couple of weeks i'll get to see this again:

And then there's this too:

I had a great summer at home, but I am so excited to be back in good ol' Provo.
You'll probably (definitely...I already have homework for every class after only 2 days!) hear me whine and complain this year about all my stressin that I do, but walking across our gorgeous campus never ceases to make me so grateful and happy to be right where i'm at.

Just Call Me A Cougar

The most beautiful blue eyes. Dark, long, thick eyelashes. Tan. Sandy brown hair. Strong arms. Perfect build for me. A bit rugged looking. INCREDIBLY handsome.

This is how I would describe the guy sitting right in front of me at my little cousin's high school football game tonight. Lindsey and I looked, laughed, and whispered about this cutie for a few minutes, and as we left I even made a comment to my family. I mean seriously, this guys' eyes were perfect I tell you.

So, thats when my mom laughs and says, "yeah, but your aunt just told me he's 15. He's a sophomore in high school and made the varsity football team this year, so his game isn't until tomorrow."

FAIL.

For half an hour I had stared at this gorgeous guy who I thought was a MAN, not some 15 year old kid! He looked like he was at least 23 to me. Buuuut no, he's a sophomore in HIGH SCHOOL this year, meanwhile i'm a sophomore in COLLEGE. Ugh. So yes, my friends, I supposed I am a cougar in more than just the innocent BYU mascot kinda way.

The 3 Amigas

The 3 Amigas. My girls Rachel and Julia. And me. We are super tight, and we have been for the last 5 years since Jules moved into our ward. This isn't some exclusive group or anything, its just a title we were given my someone (I think it was my dad actually haha) because we do so dang much together. I have a bunch of other friends who I love just as much as these girlies, but the three of us together have had some serious adventures in our time together, and we plan on continuing with these adventures even when prince charmings and little bebes come into the picture. I can promise you that we're friends for life!

Forever Friends :)

Dear Rachel (aka Roach, Raquel, Rae):
So, you know, we've been friends since we were in our mammas' growing preggo bellies, and I just think that is super awesome. We might have gone through patches when we weren't super duper close, but we ARE now and I couldn't be any happier about that. Knowing you is seriously a blessing to me. You are truly one of the coolest people I know. You're creative, you're inventive, you're sincere, you're kind, you're smart, and you are HILARIOUS. All those times i've laughed have not been courtesy laughs, they're completely real, and you'd better believe me on that this time! Working with you this summer was pretty much the best thing in the entire world, and I would not have survived that place without you. Dizzy Like A Snake! Thank you for being one of my best friends in the entire world and for being one of the 3 amigas foreva! :) Love ya!

Dear Julia (aka Jules, Lukes, Hoolia):
Dang girl. Who would have known when "the little Farmer girl" (as I called you) moved in the summer before 9th grade that she would become someone so key in my life? As I remember, it took about a week for us to become crazy good friends. Obviously, i'll never forget the first times we ever saw each other and then hung out (picture day, yw activity, cookie dough, beef, and a whole lot of giggling). And then that stupid halloween party that we went to. After that night I knew for sure you were a girl that was a lot like me and had a lot of the same priorities and beliefs that I did, which drew me to you even more. I am sooooo grateful for your friendship all through high school. Despite the fact that you were instantly more involved, known, and friendly, you never forgot about me! There is something about you that turns me into a bit of a different person when i'm around you. I get... crazier. In a good way of course! You and I have a way of communicating that is unique to our friendship I think, and I think its hilarious and I love it. Thank you for being who you are, for being one of my best friends ever, and for being one of the 3 amigas foreva :) Love ya!

From 425 to 801

Good old Washington has been my home for my entire life. I LOVE everything about it: the green trees that are everywhere, the diversity in weather and landscape, the culture, and YES, even the rain! Even though this summer's weather was less than prime, I still loved being able to come home for a few months. Today we hit the road for the trip down to Utah, and I am sooo excited to be back in Provo soon!
